My journey began when I joined a book publishing course with high hopes that a steady stream of sales would follow. I invested heavily in launching my book—the initial momentum on Amazon KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) felt promising, especially with free promotions that boosted visibility. But when the launch buzz faded, so did the sales.

I turned to Amazon advertising, which helped... but it came at a cost. No matter how many books I sold most of my profits were swallowed by printing costs and ad spend. Worse, I had no idea who my customers were—no way to follow up, no relationship, no list.

That experience lit a fire in me.
